Soak in the serene beauty of Paro, nestled at 2,200m, and explore Thimphu, perched slightly higher at 2,334m with its unique blend of tradition and modern life. Highlights include the awe-inspiring Tiger’s Nest Monastery, the towering Buddha Dordenma (51.5m), the majestic Tashichho Dzong, and the fascinating Paro Fotress—plus you have a optional Hiking Trails for keeping you fit and healthy.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and driver. From Paro, enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu. En route, stop to visit the picturesque Tamchog Monastery.

In the afternoon, explore some of Thimphu’s key attractions, including the majestic Buddha Dordenma Statue (51.5 meters tall), and the Takin Preserve Center.

In the evening, visit the Sangaygang Viewpoint for a panoramic view of Thimphu Valley, followed by Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the royal government.

Optional Short Hike: In the early evening, enjoy a gentle hike (approx. 30–45 minutes one way) through pine forests to Sangaygang Viewpoint, a peaceful spot offering sweeping views of Thimphu Valley. This trail is popular among locals for its fresh air and scenic beauty.

Overnight stay at your hotel in Thimphu.

In the morning, begin your exploration of Thimphu with a visit to  the Institute for Zorig Chusum (commonly known as the Painting School), where students learn traditional Bhutanese arts and crafts. Afterwards, browse through the vibrant Craft Bazaar, showcasing locally made handicrafts. 

Afternoon, drive to Paro. Upon arrival, enjoy afternoon visits to  Rinpung Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery with rich historical significance

Optional Short Hike to Zuri Dzong; Enjoy a scenic 30–45 minute uphill hike through pine forests to Zuri Dzong, one of Bhutan’s oldest fortresses, dating back to the 14th century. The trail starts near Ta Dzong and offers stunning views of Paro Valley, making it ideal for photography and a peaceful escape. Suitable for most visitors with moderate fitness.

In the evening, enjoy free time to explore Paro town at your leisure—ideal for shopping and photography.

Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Paro.

fter breakfast, begin a rewarding 2-3 hour  hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched 900 meters above the Paro Valley. The trail winds through pine forests and offers stunning views, with a rest stop at a traditional cafeteria halfway up.

Explore the monastery’s sacred temples, rich in spiritual history, before descending and returning to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore Paro town.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Your guide and driver will assist you with airport formalities and bid you farewell.
